Kiki Halbert Designs

Saturday, August 30, 2008

Hi, everyone! It's Janel here representing Kiki's Kokonuts and welcome to the Saturday Scraplift Challenge.

I was cruising the galleries earlier this week for a great scraplift candidate. I came across some layouts that were very similar in nature, so I decided to scraplift the concept! Melissa even chose some of them to feature in the Thursday post! Great minds think alike, huh?

by GrannyNKy

and from melscrap

and here is my scraplift:

I did spend some time making and spacing out the 36 little 1 inch squares, so if you want to play along and don't want to spend all that time, I do have a .png file that has all the little squares laid out for you. You can download it here! Feel free to hide or erase some of the squares if they don't all work for you.

Ok, so here is what you need to do:
Upload your LO's to your favorite online gallery, come back and post the link in the comments for this post by Friday, September 5th at midnight EST. If you aren't comfortable with that, you may post your LO on your blog or your photobucket account instead. Just make sure you link us up! We will choose a LO (using the random number generator) to win a $5 gift certificate. Here is the best part, the winner picks which one of Kiki’s shops you want to spend it in. Can I get a woo hoo??!! Which will it be Plain Digital Wrapper, Scrapbook-Elements, or Sunshine Studio Scraps?

Get ready, get set....go scrap!

I will be back later with the winner from last weeks lift!

Well good morning everyone!! (Okay, yes it's morning but at least I'm in my p.j's.) Kokonut Jacque here again to bring you all the good juicy gossip on Kiki's scraps. (Sorry, Kiki just informed me that I'm NOT running a gossip column and to stick to scrapbooking!) Unfortunately for us, Kiki is out of town on work and her work laptop doesn't have Photoshop! Us scrappers can handle drought, hurricanes, global warming, but NOT the lack of Photoshop . This means no new products at them moment. Instead, I thought today we'd do a rewind. You know you have lots of Kiki's products already, but you also know there are so many more you are still dying to have. Maybe you forgot about some. So Kiki's Kokonuts are here to remind you what you are missing out on. And to say thanks for our patience, I have a QP freebie from Kiki's Fierce kit available at the bottom of the post. (No cheating now, you have to read everything to get the freebie!)

As our very first scraplift challenge, I thought we should scraplift our fearless leader, Kiki! (She must be fearless, she has to deal with all of us, and I am pretty sure we're all nuts!)

Well good morning everyone! Although it is 7:30 in the morning so how good can that be? Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm Jacque and I'm nuts!! (oops) I'm a Kokonut, yeah that's it :) . I'm one of Kiki's newest CT members and I'm here to do the first CT post. Let me tell you it feels a bit funny, like being in someones home while they are away and rearranging the furniture.

Now on to the important stuff. Have you seen Kiki's new paper packs? You havn't?? They are perfect for using in all sorts of layouts. The first one is Tan Lines. It is a wide assortment of nuetrals that will highlight any page. And if you are like me and like to dabble in design on your LO's, the lighter shades work great for that torn chipboard effect. (See LO below)

This one is Earthy. Such deep beautiful greens, great for any LO but I just image being in a forest in summer, or a park or playground. Warm and inviting. Both of these are available at SunshineStudioScraps.

Here is the 2 pager I did with both kits. They definately go well together, specially if you are doing a nature page. In case your wondering, (I know it's hard to see in the preview) those are pics of Cicadas. Yep, a bug!!! But this was a once in a lifetime shot of a Cicada coming out of his shedding. When I saw these papers, I knew they were PERFECT for this shot! I used both Earthy and Tan Lines as well as MumsHighTea, LeGrungeAlpha and Frosty Limeberry. This next LO was done by another Nut ;) Cindy. OMGosh, isn't her son just way too cute. Such a little man! And the LO is beautiful. Cindy used Earthy paper pack Tan Lines paper pack Rough and Tumble alpha Frosty Limeberry Morning's Grace. Other items include: tag & staple: mgl Scraps Crimson Gypsy school wordart: Christina Renee Vanilla Hush 4:AWork in Progress Summer Garden alpha Annie Manning Paint the Moon masks Krystal Hartley Paper Blox 2 freebie Gina Miller Doodled Frames

2cool4school

And a little something extra! We love those extras, don't we ladies? (and men) I created two freebies that coordinate with both kits. An alpha and some frames. Please take them and use them, and while you are at it, don't forget to check out Kiki's new items as well as all her items. You'll love them.

Here for the Oval and here for the Square. Enjoy and have a great day!

Now that the CT announcement has been made, it's time for another! Let's get the party started, because this blog is now going to have contributions from my amazing CT! Yes, there will be lots of activity. You'll see challenges, layouts, inspirational ideas, freebies, new products announcements. Did I mention freebies? Yes, it just seemed to me that Retro Jungle needed some feminine accents. So here's a little freebie for you to enjoy that coordinates with the new kit, available at my store at Sunshine Studio Scraps.

You can download this add-on here, and I hope that you'll email me with a link to your layouts so that I can post comments.

So next time you'll see a posting, don't be surprised to see that one of Kiki's Kokonuts is the contributor. I'll have some new product announcements on Sunday, and after that you'll see lots of exciting challenges and some inspiration too.

I'm sorry that this is so late, but it's finally here. The announcement of the new Kokonuts! I'm so happy to have these great ladies working with my products. They make me proud to have them! Please welcome the new complete team of Kiki's Kokonuts!
