Super Saturday Stretch Inspiration

I have always loved the 1 large photo style layout. Whether it is centered, off center, surrounded by elements, matted or unmatted, one photo taking the main stage on your layout page really speaks to me. Sure I like fitting multiples or 2 or 3 photos on a page as well, but that one photo done up right can really be amazing.

I had the opportunity to work with Kiki's Boy Dreamer kit for my Thanksgiving layout photos. I wanted to share a couple layout ideas as well as some Title options.

I wanted this photo to show how much we care for our dear family. The title says it all; "Thankful to have you!" I broke the title up to give flow to the page from top left to bottom right. Kiki's kit made it easy to use lots of bits and pieces to bring the page together.

As for titles there are, of course, the normal everyday titles like Happy Thanksgiving, Thankful, Give Thanks or Happy Turkey Day. I have come up with a few different ones for you -- feel free to use one or two or all!

Bountiful--this can be used with Harvest, Feast, Blessings, or

I saw this one on a sign "Don't Worry, Be Thankful!"

Count Your Blessings

"Eat, Drink and be merry for tomorrow we Diet"

Peace & Plenty

Carving Memories

STUFFED!

Blessed

Our Table Runneth Over

I thought this one was funny "Thankful for Elastic Waistbands!"

Gathered Together

I hope this helps you as you work on those wonderfully delicious memories!

I know it is thanksgiving for many of our readers, but if we want to get christmas decorations out, we better start now!! Here is a quick and easy idea for christmas ornaments. I used papers from Kiki's Boy you are a dreamer (green) and Clear Nights Blue Sky. Look at how rich and gorgeous this red is.  I thought it made a perfect christmas red.
COa

I used a punch to cut the largest circle I had which is 1 3/4 but you can cut any size you want.  Don't mind the color, you can see how pretty it is from my first picture.
CO1
I folded the pieces together.

CO2

I attached several of the folded circles together and used a stapler to hold them.  You can cover up the staple or if you have colored staples, that would be good as well.   I inked the sides if there was any white showing.
CO3

On my ornaments, I used different elements to embellish them. I used stickles glitter product and a glass bead at the bottom. (If you use a stick pin, you can use it to hold it on and just glue the pin. ) I also used buttons and ribbon
CO4

CO5

These were quick and easy- the longest part was waiting for the stickles to dry.

Strolling down Dreamer Lane...

I went looking for inspiration this week and found lots of it at Scrapbook-Elements.  I am always interested in seeing what other designers create with Kiki's kits.  Two designs that caught my eye this week are from Kiki's Dreamer Combo Pack which can be found here.

The first design is a very simple but beautiful layout.  I love the way Tropt layered the papers and let the jornaling and the picture be the focal point of this layout.  She really sets it off perfect with just the glitter heart, ribbon and word art for her elements.   What a great job using Kiki's kit!!

The second is a card by Scrapmemories, which shows how versatile Kiki's kits can be.  She really does a great job clustering the flowers and the sentiment on this card and in the kits can be used for many other card ideas.

This has me thinking now!!!  Whether it is masculine or feminine design, this kit can do it all!!!  Now, what have you done lately with Kiki's kits?  I can't wait to see.  I will be on the lookout and you might see your designs featured here!!

Thanksgiving is just around the corner here in the States, and Kiki's Masks can help! What on Earth could we do with those masks to help us with Thanksgiving? Well they won't cook the Turkey for you, however you could make some gorgeous items to decorate your Thanksgiving table with!

Using the Mask She's Wearing set (above)and Mask He's Wearing set (below) you can create photo place cards for your guests:

Here is what I did for our family.

These masks are so easy to use!

Notable Quotes

Hi digiscrappers, Jennifer (aka DigiScrapMommy) here.  I wanted to share with you today a favorite "go to" site of mine.  Whenever I create a layout that really doesn't need journaling or a title, I always like to use a quote instead.  My favorite site is The Quote Garden .  It's very user friendly because you are able to see the categories right away without having to search.  I just highlight, cut, paste, change font and I'm done!  I love designing word art too, and this site has been the source of many of my creations.  One thing to remember...always give credit to the person who said the quote. I think using quotes, especially ones that speak to you, can really enhance an already special layout. I pulled a few quotes in case you need some inspiration for your Thanksgiving layouts.  Enjoy!

If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, "thank you," that would suffice.  ~Meister Eckhart

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.  ~John Fitzgerald Kennedy

Thanksgiving dinners take eighteen hours to prepare.
They are consumed in twelve minutes.
Half-times take twelve minutes.
This is not coincidence.  ~Erma Bombeck

We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.  ~Thornton WilderForever on Thanksgiving Day
The heart will find the pathway home.
~Wilbur D. Nesbit

Here's an example of one I made using Kiki's kit: "Boy Dreamerz"

Other good sites for quote hunting: QUOTELAND, Quotes.net (famous authors), BrainyQuote, and CoolNSmart.  Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!!

Super Saturday Stretch Inspriation

It's that time of year where Thanksgiving is being over run by Christmas. Where people are already talking about what they plan to do for the New Year. It is time to slow down! Take a step back and, even if just for 15 minutes, take time to journal or create layouts on what you are thankful for. I don't just mean the same old things you ALWAYS design--you know what I mean. Those cute pages of family and Thanksgiving dinner, or photos with the grandparents. Those are wonderful, but there is so much more to be thankful for.

Be thankful for the burst tire that didn't cause a wreak or hurt anyone else. Thankful for the gas bill or electric bill reminding you that you have heat and can cook food inside your own home instead of on a fireplace or outdoor hearth. Thankful for that workhorse vehicle that keeps you traveling from place to place keeping the occupants safe from the elements and others on the road. Thankful for the messy hand prints on the wall or fridge reminding you that you are not alone. Thankful for the fuzzy fur all over the floor, sofa, clothing reminding you that your fur babies love you!

I am thankful for my toilet. Really, I am! I am grateful that someone created a way to do that business inside my own home without having to go out in the snow to an outhouse that smells nasty and I can just flush a lever--gone! I am thankful for indoor plumbing and warm showers. I am thankful for innovation and creativity.

What are you thankful for? Your dishwasher? Microwave? Computer chair? Garden? Are you thankful for your grocery store or local park? Maybe you love getting mail and are thankful for having a mail carrier....maybe having amazing trash men who pick up your garbage and haul it away for you. Whatever you are normally thankful for, think of everyday items or things around you that you are also grateful for and give thanks!

The elements in the Dreamer collection

As you have seen on the blog, Kiki released her "Dreamer" collection on Scrapbook Elements a few days ago.  You have seen some of the great layouts from these awesome collections.  Both collections, "Boy u r a dreamer" and "Girl you are a dreamer" go together perfectly, so you want to buy it as a combo pack.

I want to focus on the great elements in those kits.

The word art is so versatile in both collections.  The selection below has elements are from the Boy dreamer collection.  I love the journaling strips as well. You have to take a close look at the ric rac to know it is digital.  The rolled flowers are the best.  I am a hybrid scrapper, so I call it beauty without the bulk!!!  Also to make your masculine layouts really stand out, notice the chain link fence and the dirt.  Totally awesome!!

From the Girl dreamer collection, I loved all the flowers and greenery. Below,  I used the rose petals which made a nice base for my flowers.  I have several of the great flowers from the girl collection in this close up.  My new favorite is the heart..it is going to end up on every layout!!!

Here is the heart again, along with some glitter splatter, the flowers and ribbon.

See the great word art on the layout below.  They will be a part of many great layouts!!!

The combo pack is available at Scrapbook Elements and check out the gallery there for more layouts featuring these collections.  This is must have for your digital collection!!!

Stay tuned to the blog this week, as Kiki has a new release coming out!!!  Did you notice the sneak peak?

Thankful

Happy November!
If your doing Thanksgiving layouts this month maybe these poems and sayings may help get your mojo going. Thanksgiving will be here before we know it.

At Grandma's House
I like the taste of turkey
Any time throughout the year
But it never
seems to taste as good
As when Thanksgiving's here.

Could be it's all the trimmings
That are cooked with it to eat-
But I think it's
eating at Grandma's house
That makes it such a treat!
~Author Unknown

More poems can be found here.
Here is a site to teach kids some Thanksgiving songs.

Here is a fun link with Thanksgiving titles for your layout.
They have thanksgiving jokes and games and fun things to do.

I am so thankful for designers like Kiki. With out them we
wouldn't have awesome memory pages of our love ones.
Have a Great day.
